Job description

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Geospatial product range and leverage this knowledge to provide expert technical guidance.

  • Understand and leverage the technical approach to building customer-tailored solutions based on the Hexagon Geospatial product and solution range across other SIG EMEA countries.

  • Act as a key technical advisor, supporting Sales, Pre-Sales, and Project Management teams in designing and delivering innovative solutions.

  • Utilization and adaptation of existing custom developments from international projects.

  • Take the role of a technical lead in government and transportation projects, ensuring technical feasibility, compliance, and successful execution in close collaboration with project management.

  • Define and oversee system architecture with a focus on scalability, security, and efficiency.

  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud and server infrastructure, ensuring proper documentation.

  • Support the sales team analyzing and answering public tenders by reviewing technical requirements, ensuring compliance, and contributing to proposal development.

  • Play an inspiring and advising role in collaboration with customers during the definition of technical solutions.

  • Assisting teams in solving technical challenges, provide hands-on support when necessary.

  • Act as a mentor and technical lead, guiding engineering teams in best practices for system design and development.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in government, public, or transportation sectors.

  • Take responsibility to represent Hexagon at technical boards and industry-specific standardization organizations.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Proven experience as a System Architect, Technical Lead, or similar role.

  • Knowledge of current cloud technologies (certification is a plus).

  • Strong understanding of software architecture, system integration, and infrastructure design.

  • Experience working with government, public sector, or transportation industries is a plus.

  • Familiarity with public tendering processes and related documentation.

  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable, reliable technical solutions.

  • Hands-on programming experience (not as a full-time developer, but to support technical teams).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make strategic technical decisions.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Fluency in English is required; German is a strong plus.
